Lady Sorrell becomes Chancellor of the
University of Westminster …

We are very proud to announce that this week our co-chair Frances Sorrell has been appointed as the new Chancellor of the University of Westminster.

Professor Geoffrey Petts, Vice Chancellor of the University of Westminster, said:  “With substantial achievements in education and industry, we are very excited to welcome Lady Sorrell to the University. For nearly two centuries, the University of Westminster has been focused on supporting people to improve their life chances and these are values that Lady Sorrell has exemplified throughout her education campaign and business life.”

Lady Sorrell said: “I’m honoured to have been appointed as Chancellor and delighted to join a University with a deeply held ethos around diversity and equality of opportunity. I am looking forward to supporting its work on student mobility and global employer engagement. I’m very excited about helping Westminster provide a springboard to future career and life success.”

Earlier this week, Frances was also awarded an honorary Masters degree by the
University for the Creative Arts.

An important partner in the National Art&Design Saturday Club, UCA Epsom joined in 2010 and UCA Rochester in 2014.  At the ceremony, Frances spoke of the great contribution made by Su Shearer who retires this week. Su has enjoyed a long and distinguished career in art and design education, which includes running the Saturday Club at Epsom for the last four years.
