The Cardiff Art&Design Club programme aims to explore multiple subjects within the disciplines of art and design, drawing on the specialist facilities and teaching faculty at the university. Topics explored to date include self-portraits, line drawing, life model drawing, human body cell drawing, abstraction, Photoshop, tie dyeing, textile building / embellishment, Hey! Clay, ceramics – hand building techniques and sculpture.
For the Masterclass in spring 2018, the Club will be collaborating with the University’s Science&Engineering Saturday Club to produce visualisations of cosmic rays with the Institute of Physics.
Club members will also take part in two National Events; the London Visit, in which club members take part in a pop-up self-portrait exhibition and visit the capital’s museums and galleries and the Summer Show where all club members exhibit their work in an exhibition in Somerset House, London – all for free!
