Central Saint Martins
Every single student at Central Saint Martins is curious about the world around them – and it is a world that is constantly changing.
The fashion industry spent most of the pandemic exploring new ways of keeping us informed and inspired through words, pictures and film. But the traditional format of the printed monthly magazine and well-curated Instagram account just don’t feel like enough anymore… Fashion is always on the move, but what happens when we are all stood still? The last 18 months have made us look at things differently. And at Central Saint Martins, we’re used to that.
This 10-week Saturday Club called ‘Say What You See’, will introduce you to the foundations of observational fashion writing and editing, designer and image research, illustration and web-design. Through the programme, you will develop practical and technical skills as well as key transferable skills, such as creative problem-solving and presentation techniques. You will also meet a number of students and staff from the school of Fashion Communication and work collaboratively with people across the country. By the end of it you’ll be part of your own fashion network. This is your chance to begin telling the stories you want to hear.
Club members also take part in national events including Masterclasses with leading industry professionals and the Summer Show, where Saturday Clubs nationwide exhibit their work in a public exhibition – all for free!
Applicants must fit one or more of our UAL outreach criteria and priority will be given to applicants from Schools who are part of the UAL Outreach network.
The best thing about CSM is that you feel part of something. It’s about how you see fashion so you can understand it!
