Sheffield Hallam University

The Saturday Club at Sheffield Hallam University is tailored by Art&Design tutors to encourage exploration and spark creativity.

In 2019/20, the Club’s energising programme explored traditional practices such as stamp making and introduced concepts – such as performance art – that challenged members to consider the definition of art. Club members also collaborated with artists from the university’s network, including Jim McElvaney, who led the self-portraiture project, and designer Aprille Broomhead, who led lino-printing workshops.

Club members also take part in national events including Masterclasses with leading industry professionals and the Summer Show, where all Club members exhibit their work in a public exhibition – all for free!
