The National Saturday Club helps you learn new skills, gain confidence, and make new friends. The experience will also help you to make better-informed decisions about your next steps in education and find careers you will love. We want you to have the opportunity to explore subjects you enjoy, free from the pressure of exams, and in a supportive and inspiring environment (all for free).
The course will focus on the creation of a Mini-Game that can be played on mobile phones and you will work with computers to produce this. An introduction to storytelling in digital comic form will introduce the player to the game and this will be complemented by the production of the character in a 3D model.
Starting on the 5th of October, and over sixteen Saturdays, you will receive tuition from expert tutors and be able to use the specialist state of the art facilities of the School of Creative Arts at the University of Hertfordshire. You will also take a trip to London and take part in a pop-up portrait exhibition.
In the second half of the academic year, you will attend a Masterclass given by a leading professional from the field of art and design. In June your work will be shown in a spectacular exhibition at London’s prestigious Somerset House. This Summer Show features work by all 1,600 Saturday Club members from across the country.
