University of Huddersfield
Sustainability is the possibly the greatest challenge facing the fashion industry, and will be ever increasingly important in the future.
The Department of Fashion and Textiles at The University of Huddersfield runs an exciting and varied National Saturday Club programme, enabling Club members to explore the themes of sustainability in fashion. Held in the new, award-winning £30m Barbara Hepworth Building, our Saturday Club will show you how rich and varied the subject of fashion really is, covering the rich connectivity between fashion, textiles and costume, and how they relate to key concepts like biophilia and sustainability. The Club encourages members to express their creativity in fun sessions designed to deepen their understanding of the fashion industry, challenge preconceptions and explore the ways it is evolving.
Club members will also take part in national events including Masterclasses with leading industry professionals and the Summer Show, where Saturday Clubs nationwide exhibit their work in a public exhibition – all for free!
Saturday Club? Well it’s the highlight of the week isn’t it?
It’s shown me so much more than I knew was out there.
