University of Sussex
University of Sussex is launching a Writing&Talking Saturday Club programme!
In this Saturday Club, delivered by our Sussex Writes team, you will have the opportunity to explore the distinctions between writing and talking.
The programme will offer you exciting new ways of giving voice to your thoughts and feelings through poetry, prose, and spoken word, amongst other mediums. There will be a special focus on the rhythms of language, too, explored via a number of drumming workshops. You will also have the chance to use a nineteenth-century printing press, housed in the School of Media, Arts and Humanities at the University of Sussex, which will serve as a springboard for thinking about the way in which we make impressions, both literally and figuratively, whenever we say something.
Together, we will forge a culture of innovation and self-expression, the purpose of which is to make yourself heard and, ultimately, to leave a lasting impression.
Club members also take part in national events including Masterclasses with leading industry professionals and the Summer Show, where Saturday Clubs nationwide exhibit their work in a public exhibition – all for free!
