Hannah Travers is appointed to the new role of Development Director

8 July, 2024

The National Saturday Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Hannah Travers to the new post of Development Director.

Hannah spent the early part of her career in sales at White Cube, working with collectors and artists. 2018 saw her move to the not-for-profit sector joining City & Guilds of London Art School as Development Manager. Since 2021, she has held the role of Head of Development & External Relations, a senior management team role that encompasses donor relations and fundraising for capital projects, core funding, bursaries and special projects.

She is also a Trustee on the board of Hypha Studios, a charity who match creatives with vacant property to provide free exhibition and studio space, bringing culture to high streets around the UK.

Hannah will lead, devise and deliver a fundraising strategy to actively diversify and increase the National Saturday Club’s income, working across all areas of fundraising to secure corporate partnerships, sponsors, major donors and philanthropic gifts. She will play an instrumental role in enabling the charity to extend its footprint, reaching more young people and offering them free extracurricular creative education opportunities nationwide.

Lucy Kennedy, Chief Executive of the National Saturday Club commented: “We are delighted that Hannah Travers has joined the National Saturday Club in this pivotal new role of Development Director. She brings with her a great understanding of and enthusiasm for the mission of the National Saturday Club and a wealth of expertise in external partnership building, which will further build on the success of the last few years. This appointment marks an important milestone for the charity, as we continue to deliver on our growth strategy to enable more young people to access free extracurricular education across the UK. This vision cannot be achieved without a sustainable funding model, providing a long-term foundation for the incredible network of partners with whom we work. We are tremendously grateful to our generous funders and supporters who enable the National Saturday Club programme to transform young people’s lives. We look forward to continuing to work with them as well as develop new partnerships as we continue to grow.”

On her appointment to Development Director, Hannah said: “I am thrilled to join the brilliant team at the National Saturday Club. Having supported the launch of two Craft&Making Clubs in my previous role at City & Guilds of London Art School,  I have seen firsthand the immensely positive impact this work has on both the young people and institutional host partners. It will be a privilege to work with the National Saturday Club’s supporters and I look forward to sharing the mission and vision more widely with a growing community of donors and sponsors to enable the charity to deliver fantastic opportunities for even more young people.”
