What’s On? Masterclasses season!

19 February, 2025

Masterclasses season takes place every Spring Term, bringing together thousands of Club members throughout the UK with a wide range of industry professionals and dynamic teams across a breadth of sectors. A core part of the National Saturday Club’s programme, Masterclasses shine a light on future career pathways and nurture young people’s interests, skills and creativity.

We’re delighted to be partnering with industry leading brands and forward-thinking individuals to deliver Masterclasses at 125 Saturday Clubs across the nation. From designing prints with Speedo, creating costumes for the Royal Opera House and learning to use Adobe software to edit promotional videos, to puppet making with Oliver Hymas, learning about the role of a Textile Designer at Burberry and exploring the Content Creator economy with Youtube. Bespoke workshops have been designed by our incredible network of organisations and individuals to spark Club members’ inspiration.

The 2024/25 Masterclasses season began with Falmouth University and Arts University Plymouth Art&Design and Fashion&Business Saturday Clubs joining together for a Masterclass with Speedo and Pentland Brands. Club members were briefed to create vibrant patterns for a Speedo swimsuit, bringing to life their ideas on floor to ceiling paper covered walls. This collaborative experience allowed Club members to explore design, creative briefings, teamwork, and the joy of bringing imaginative ideas to life.

The Masterclass experience is often the moment that many Club members realise that their passions and interests have the potential to develop into fulfilling and rewarding careers.

It was during the Masterclass, when I realised just how achievable and realistic a career in art is. It has always been a big dream of mine since I was a kid. Hearing the Masterclass giver talk about it made me feel like it could really happen

Club member, MAKE Southwest

The Masterclass was a fantastic experience, filled with enthusiastic engagement from both the students and presenters. It was inspiring to see curiosity and eagerness to learn about green technology and its impact on the environment

Dr Mahfujur Rahman, Ceres Power

During the Masterclass I have learnt the multiple pathways you can take in order to go into a job related in design

Club member, Art Classes Group

It was a great opportunity to inspire young students that are dreaming to work in the luxury fashion industry. It is very helpful for students to know which different careers they can take on depending on their skills and aspirations.

Stefano Laudisa, Manolo Blahnik

Taking part in the National Saturday Club Masterclass was a really enriching experience. It was great to connect with younger people, and hear their visions for the future. Despite the strife in the world, there seemed to be so much hope, focus and excitement…the programme facilitates sparks of inspiration and creative thinking that will allow then to carve out their own space.

Tanvi Khurmi, McGregor Coxall
