National Saturday Club is thrilled to announce that an incredible £10,475 has been raised during Big Give’s Arts for Impact campaign, surpassing the set target. The money raised will directly support the establishment of new Saturday Clubs across the UK.
Between 18–25 March, National Saturday Club was selected to participate in its very first public fundraising campaign. The Arts for Impact initiative, run in partnership with New Philanthropy for Arts & Culture (NPAC), supports arts and culture charities working to achieve societal impact across the UK. Throughout the campaign period, all donations were doubled, which meant that our generous supporters made double the difference – increasing access to free creative education for young people nationally.
Lucy Kennedy, Chief Executive of National Saturday Club commented:
“My heartfelt thanks to everyone who supported our Big Give Arts for Impact campaign. Your generosity has enabled the National Saturday Club to successfully reach our target, allowing us to further expand and ensure more young people have equitable access to extracurricular education. At a critical time for children and young people, this support is particularly valued, enabling us to continue creating opportunities and unlocking potential for young people across the UK.”
The money raised will support National Saturday Club’s ambitious growth strategy, which aims to see an increase of Saturday Clubs across all four nations of the UK. An exciting pipeline of new Clubs for the 2025/26 programme will welcome new partners in Northern Ireland and Scotland.
Across the UK, Saturday Clubs provide 13—16-year-olds with free, year-long extracurricular programmes across eight creative subjects. These enriching experiences build social, emotional and practical skills, illuminating clear pathways to further study and future careers in the creative sector and beyond.
Research shows that younger adults from working-class backgrounds are four times less likely to work in the creative industries compared to their middle-class peers (The Sutton Trust, November 2024). National Saturday Club and its remarkable network of partners remains dedicated to providing free access to extracurricular creative education for young people, especially those from underserved and underrepresented communities, nationwide.
