Blackburn Museum & Art Gallery

The Craft&Making Saturday Club at Blackburn Museum & Art Gallery is a free programme of workshops for young people who have a passion for making. Members will get a chance to meet like-minded people, learn new skills or practice old ones, make new friends and have fun at the weekend!

Our club provides 13–16 year olds with access to makers locally and exciting creative workshops run in a small and friendly environment without the pressure of exams. Over several weeks, members will be able to explore a variety of craft and making processes covering textiles, ceramics and printmaking.

You can make use of the museum collections for each topic and have the opportunity to hold small exhibitions in our community gallery space. We will also organise visits to local craft businesses and organisations to help members understand how craft and making based skills can lead to rewarding careers.

Club members also take part in national events including Masterclasses with leading industry professionals and the Summer Show, where Saturday Clubs nationwide exhibit their work in a public exhibition – all for free!

Club dates:
28 September 2024 – 19 July 2025
