The program includes hands-on experience in:
– Blacksmithing
– Decorative Wood Carving
– Stained Glass Window Making
– Introduction to Lime Plaster and Decorative Work
– Coppicing
– Green Wood Carving
Other Highlights will include a visit to Chastleton House to see heritage skills throughout history, exploring Coleshill’s Secret History, including the grounds of Coleshill House, gaining hands-on experience in Coleshill Parkland learning about Nature Accelerator.
Running for 20 weeks at the National Trust Heritage & Rural Skills Centre in Coleshill, Oxfordshire, Club members will be taught by highly skilled tutors who are also practicing craftspeople. They will be supported each week by National Trust Volunteers and the Children & Young People (CYP) Lead. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn new skills, make new friends, and join a national network of young creatives through the National Saturday Club.
Club members also take part in national events including Masterclasses with leading industry professionals and the Summer Show, where Saturday Clubs nationwide exhibit their work in a public exhibition – all for free!
