City & Guilds of London Art School

The Craft&Making Saturday Club at City & Guilds of London Art School gives young people the opportunity to develop their creativity and explore the world of craft and craftsmanship.

This year there will be two Clubs at City & Guilds of London Art School:

2D Heritage Craft (12 places)

The 2D stream aims to develop members’ 2D skills through heritage crafts and processes, applying drawing and painting skills, in new ways. You’ll work in the print room, as well as the Art School Drawing Studio, working across a diverse range of media, from gold, to making your own paper!

This course is perfect for someone who enjoys working in 2D but would like to explore a range of different media and surfaces to create on.

3D Heritage Craft (8 places)

The 3D stream will enable members’ to explore a range of processes and medium, from carving in stone and wood to working in glass. You’ll work in the Drawing Studio and around the Art School, working with a wide range of tools to develop your sculptural skills

This course if perfect if you’re interested in materials and eager to extend your sculptural skills.

Once you have made your application, you will be contacted by City & Guilds of London Art School to enquire which stream is your preference.

Both streams of the course will be taught by expert tutors who deliver BA and MA programmes at the Art School with a range of trips and guest tutors throughout the year. You’ll also be supported by a team of current Art School students who you’ll be able to chat to about what it takes to become an artist today.

We have family and friends parties throughout the academic year so your work and progress can be shared and celebrated. We hope to hear from you and look forward to your application!

Club members will also take part in free national events including the Summer Show, where Saturday Clubs nationwide exhibit their work in a public exhibition, and Masterclasses with leading industry professionals.
