KSF Creative Inventors

The Creative Engineering, Robotics & Inventors Club is a hands-on Saturday programme for young people aged 13–16 who are curious about how things work, how things are made, and how ideas can be transformed into real inventions and working prototypes.

Through a combination of robotics, engineering challenges, creative technology, problem-solving, and collaborative making, Club members will explore how creativity and innovation work together in the real world.

Young people will have opportunities to design, build, test, experiment, and develop projects using robotics kits, engineering systems, creative construction materials, and digital technologies in a supportive and inclusive studio environment.

The Club will encourage members to think like inventors, engineers, designers, and creative problem-solvers while developing practical technical skills, teamwork, communication, resilience, and confidence.

Sessions will include hands-on building activities, creative engineering tasks, design-thinking projects, collaborative challenges, and opportunities to explore future pathways within engineering, robotics, technology, design, and innovation industries. Specialist equipment used throughout the programme may include robotics kits, programmable systems, engineering and prototyping materials, creative construction tools, laptops/tablets, and digital design resources.

Members will also have opportunities to document and present their ideas, processes, and final outcomes throughout the year. The Club is designed to be welcoming, accessible, and engaging for young people from all backgrounds, including those who may be completely new to robotics or engineering. Curiosity, creativity, and willingness to experiment are valued just as much as technical experience.

Club members also take part in national events including Masterclasses with leading industry professionals and the Summer Show, where Saturday Clubs nationwide exhibit their work in a public exhibition – all for free!

Accessibility Statement:

We are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive environment where all young people feel valued, respected, and able to participate confidently.

The Creative Engineering, Robotics & Inventors Club is designed to support a wide range of learning styles, abilities, backgrounds, and levels of experience. Activities are delivered through a combination of visual demonstrations, verbal guidance, practical hands-on learning, teamwork, and step-by-step support to ensure sessions are accessible and engaging for all members.

We aim to create an environment where curiosity, experimentation, and creativity are encouraged, and where young people feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and learn at their own pace. Members do not need prior experience in robotics, engineering, or coding to take part.

Reasonable adjustments and additional support can be discussed with families where needed, and we work closely with young people to help ensure they can access sessions comfortably and confidently. Our Club promotes collaboration, inclusion, respect, and positive participation throughout all activities.
