MIMA, Part of Teesside University
The FREE National Saturday Club at MIMA, part of Teesside University, invites 13 – 16 year olds to explore their creativity with like-minded young people, tutors, artists and academics. The weekly sessions are delivered by a range of artists, makers, and special guests and take place within MIMA, an international art gallery.
Sessions will create opportunities for young people to learn, explore, make, think, experiment, gain confidence, and respond to live briefs. Club Members will develop a range of skills throughout their MIMA adventure as we explore different techniques and media together. Saturday Club members will learn about Art and Design courses at Teesside University and will discover routes into the creative industries through engagement with MIMA’s wider programme.
Successful applications will be selected by an independent panel comprised of MIMA’s wider team and MIMA friends. We will give each application the love and attention you would expect. Before applying, we politely ask that Club Members commit to attending all of our programmed sessions and workshops throughout the year.
Club members will also take part in national events including Masterclasses with leading industry professionals and the Summer Show, where Saturday Clubs nationwide exhibit their work in a public exhibition – all for free!
