SIGNAL
Signal x BarrowFull’s Film & Screen Saturday Club is a free creative group running year-round during term-time. You’ll learn how to tell stories using film and digital art, get hands on with professional tech, try new things, make friends and grow in confidence.
You don’t need any previous experience – we welcome everyone. Our friendly team of professional filmmakers and artists will help you explore new ways to create and express yourself.
The course includes practical workshops, masterclasses with filmmakers, artists and industry professionals, and creative sessions in inspiring places. You’ll develop skills in filming, editing, animation, set building, sound, visual effects, photography, digital image-making and more! Along the way you’ll experiment, work in teams, and create your own original films and artwork.
In July 2027 your work will be exhibited at the National Saturday Club Summer Show at Somerset House in London, and celebrate your achievements with friends and family at a special showcase event in Barrow. Club members will also take part in our Masterclasses national event with leading industry professionals.
Our dedicated youth workers will make sure every Club member gets wrap-around support, including for access needs. Parents, caregivers or teachers are encouraged to share any needs to help us understand how to help their young people get the most out of the club.
Accessibility statement:
We want every young person to feel welcome and supported. We all learn, communicate and take part in different ways, so we’re committed to creating an inclusive club that works for you.
Our team of artists and youth workers will support you at every session and provide extra help whenever you need it. This might include adapting activities, providing clear visual demonstrations and instructions, offering quiet or breakout spaces, or making other reasonable adjustments to help neurodivergent young people and those with other access needs take part confidently.
Our newly refurbished building meets the latest accessibility standards and has been designed with inclusivity in mind, including clear, disabled-friendly signage, step-free access throughout, a lift to all floors and accessible toilets. We have considered sensory needs in our design, aiming for a calm, flexible, welcoming atmosphere and spacious rooms that can be adapted for individual needs including a dedicated quiet space.
Large-print information is available on request, assistance dogs are welcome, and accessible parking is nearby.
If there’s anything you need to help you take part, we’d love to hear from you. Get in touch when you apply, or contact us in advance, and we’ll work with you to make sure you get the most out of your time with us.
