Stanley Arts and Global Academy

Join the Film & Screen Saturday Club at Stanley Arts!

Step into the spotlight at the iconic Stanley Arts Centre in Croydon – a creative hub in South London with a rich cultural history. The Film & Screen Saturday Club gives 13–16 year olds the chance to get hands-on with the world of digital and visual storytelling.

From directing and editing to scriptwriting and shooting your own content, you’ll learn real production skills in a fun, inclusive, and supportive environment. You’ll get to grips with industry-standard techniques – including camera work, lighting, sound, and storytelling – all while working on exciting practical projects.

You don’t need to be a student at Global Academy – and no experience is needed. We welcome young people from across South London and beyond, especially those from backgrounds underrepresented in the creative industries.

Many of the Global Academy alumni have gone on to work with top names like the BBC, Sky, and Global – and this could be where your journey starts too.

Stanley Arts is a welcoming and inclusive space. The venue is wheelchair and buggy accessible, with seating for those who need it and accessible toilets available for all genders. Everyone is welcome – and we’re here to make sure you feel comfortable and supported.

Club members also take part in national events including Masterclasses with leading industry professionals and the Summer Show, where Saturday Clubs nationwide exhibit their work in a public exhibition – all for free!
