At the University of Northampton’s Film&Screen Saturday Club, young people will have the exciting opportunity to work alongside award-winning Film Producer and Northampton Film Festival Director Becky Carrier, creating their own short films with local industry professionals using professional-standard filmmaking equipment.

Through hands on workshops, behind-the-scenes industry insights and real filmmaking experiences, participants will explore every stage of the filmmaking process, from storytelling and script development to shooting and editing. They’ll gain valuable insights into careers in film through Q&As with local industry professionals, screen inspiring independent and locally made short films, and take part in practical tutorials designed to bring their creative ideas to life.

Along the way, young people will build confidence, creativity and communication skills while developing their filmmaking expertise. They’ll discover their strengths and interests, enhance their teamwork and project management abilities and gain experience that could inspire future education and career choices.

As part of the National Saturday Club network, members will also enjoy exclusive opportunities to participate in a Masterclass led by leading industry professionals and showcase their work at the prestigious Summer Show, where Saturday Clubs from across the UK come together to exhibit their achievements in a public exhibition. Best of all, it’s completely free to take part!
