In a Masterclass with Amy Williams, Art&Design Club members at The Studio Morland crafted unique flowers from paper.
Amy Williams, a freelance artist and facilitator, began the session with an introduction to her work and career. Amy specialises in socially engaged art projects, collaborating with various cultural venues and focusing on community engagement.
Following her introduction, Club members were tasked with creating at least one three-dimensional flower out of paper. They learned different paper engineering techniques such as cutting, folding and creating leaves with paper-cut designs. Club members enjoyed transforming simple materials into intricate and beautiful creations: “I can make something so beautiful from something so simple.”
The Club members then showcased their colourful and varied designs to one another.
