The Film&Screen and Games Design Saturday Clubs at Rochdale Hopwood Hall College had a Masterclass with director Andrew Gunn, exploring professional filmmaking techniques. 

Andrew began by sharing his career journey, showing clips from his work on Doctor Who, and discussing key directing methods used in the industry. 

Club members were divided into teams and tasked with devising, shooting, and editing short films within an assigned genre. After planning their narratives and shot types, the groups utilised indoor spaces, outdoor areas, props, and costumes to bring their visions to life. Following the shoot, the teams edited their footage, making collaborative decisions on pacing, sound effects, and mood music. 

The session concluded with a screening of the finished films, where Andrew and the tutors provided constructive feedback on both the creative concepts and the technical skills demonstrated.
