Kingston University’s Art&Design Masterclass was led by senior engineer Helen Groat, with Emma Bennett, Miriam Boos, Alister Hirst and Alessandra Villa of Arup at their London offices. Helen showed them the Endless Stair installation commissioned for the London Design Festival in 2013 and explained the key principles of engineering. After this the young people created their own collaborative structure, which they thought was “fantastic”.
