In a Bonfield Block-Printers Masterclass led by Cameron Short, Craft&Making Saturday Club members from MAKE Southwest explored traditional printmaking techniques.
To start the Masterclass, Cameron introduced his practice and how printmaking can be commercialised into making a sustainable living. After a demonstration of various techniques, Club members began carving individual letters using lino printing. Together the letters spelled ‘WE <3 SATURDAY CLUB’.
After familiarising themselves with lino cutting techniques, Club members were then able to create their own designs, incorporating what they had learned about rolling and applying ink for a polished print.
