The Film&Screen Saturday Clubs at The Bright Foundation and East Sussex College had a Masterclass with Crossing the Screen, the organisation behind the Eastbourne International Film Festival, exploring how to create and programme a film festival. 

Dominic Della Valle, Founder and Director of Crossing the Screen, delivered a presentation about the organisation. He gave them a brief on how to organise a festival and the key elements involved before the groups moved to another room to start creating their own mini festivals. 

Club members split into three groups and worked on crafting their festival plans, choosing a theme, target audience and film selection to build their festival programming.  

Once finished, they returned to the screen room to present their ideas to the other groups. The session ended with Dominic inviting all Club members to participate in the animation workshop happening at the Eastbourne International Film Festival in May.  

They also earned the ‘explorer’ digital badge from Crossing the Screen.
