Art&Design Saturday Club members from the University of Northampton visited Howdens for an exciting Masterclass on colour creation.
To start, the group was introduced to Howdens and given a creative brief focused on their new ‘Paint to Order’ service, allowing customers to order kitchens in any colour, from bold and vibrant to soft and sophisticated.
The challenge was to create a brand identity for the service, including a name, logo, poster, and brochure cover. Club members began by assembling mood boards using catalogues and printed materials before brainstorming brand names, logos, and colour palettes. Copywriting and naming exercises followed, alongside logo sketching.
Club members refined their designs, with some creating promotional posters. The Masterclass concluded with a group presentation, where each team pitched their concepts – just as they would in a professional design setting!
