In a Masterclass with sign-writer Jade Francesca Blackler, Art&Design Saturday Club members from Arts University Plymouth explored heritage craft and sign-writing. After discussing different alphabet styles and colour ways, Clubs members chose a letter to transform into a wooden panel. Using the sign-writing skills and templates learned from Jade, the Club members’ traditional, decorative letters became beautiful examples of the art of calligraphy.
