Nick Wade, the lead animator for children’s TV programme Peppa Pig, led a fascinating Masterclass with the University of Westminster’s Art&Design Club that began with a talk about his training and work, followed by lots of questions from the young members.
Nick ran through a sample storyboard, talking the group through the complexities of developing an episode of Peppa Pig, from initial layouts to final details, and showed them an exclusive, recently completed episode.
The practical part of the workshop was to make flip books, on any subject the young people wished. The group spent two hours working hard on them, and everyone succeeded in making a short animation. It was great for the Club members to meet a real professional, said their tutor, and all in all the day was interesting, informative and really enjoyable.
