Price & Myers, a consulting civil and structural engineering practice, led a Masterclass for Art&Design Club members from City of Liverpool College. Tim Lucas, Structural Engineer and Partner in Price & Myers, introduced himself and projects from his career before briefing the Club members on their activity for the day.
Club members created toothpick towers held together using Haribo bears. The members’ toothpick structures were tested under ‘electricity cables,’ created using bike chains mounted onto a testing rig. To test their structures even further, the members’ towers had to withstand wind loading from electric fans.
