PriestmanGoode, designing future transport

  • University of Salford

University of Salford Science&Engineering Saturday Club took part in a forward-thinking Masterclass with PriestmanGoode, exploring the future of public transport.

The day began with the team introducing themselves and their diverse backgrounds in textiles, fine art and retail design. PriestmanGoode, known for redefining transport experiences, shared insights into their team members’ careers and their approach to designing a better future.

Club members were then challenged to imagine public transport in Greater Manchester in 2035. They explored ways to make journeys more accessible and sustainable while considering the needs of wheelchair users, school groups, older passengers and even musicians travelling to festivals. They also thought about how climate change could affect future travel.

Each group developed their ideas into 3D models, sketches and design plans. At the end of the session, they presented their concepts to the PriestmanGoode team and received constructive feedback.
