For the Kingston Science&Engineering Club, the Masterclass with PriestmanGoode was a chance to experience something completely different. Not only did they visit a professional design studio and hear all about PriestmanGoode’s projects and how the team works, but they were also set an exciting task that was out of their comfort zone: to design a seat and a brand for a space transport company.
Each group was allocated a planet to which their company would fly, with a fact sheet and photographs from the Hubble space telescope, and given fabric samples, foils and templates to work with. The young people responded really well, thinking deeply and collaborating or dividing into sub-groups as appropriate. At the end, they presented their ideas, relishing the opportunity to combine their intergalactic knowledge with interior design.
