Kingswood Arts Art&Design Saturday Club took part in an interactive Masterclass with the Royal College of Art, exploring the metaverse and digital identity.
To begin, Club members reflected on their online personas, noting how many different digital identities they had. They were then introduced to EPIC’s Metahuman Creator software and guided through the process of customising a digital MetaSelf. Working in pairs, they experimented with the software, creating avatars that mirrored their own facial features, styles and skin tones.
Next, Club members considered what their avatars might say and recorded their voices, bringing their digital selves to life. The Royal College of Art team then animated the avatars, which were shared with the group. The session offered an exciting glimpse into the future of digital representation and self-expression.
