University of Hertfordshire Film&Screen Saturday Club visited Sky Studios for an immersive Masterclass exploring the art of pitch film creation.
The day began with an introduction to the Sky Studios team, who offered insights into the work that takes place at the studio. Club members then played a guessing game to identify which films had been shot there.
The main task involved turning pre-prepared pitch ideas into short films. Club members selected ideas such as dystopian futures and wartime dramas. Each member was assigned a professional role – from director and actor to editor and camera operator.
Working in the cutting-edge Extended Reality (XR) studio, they brought their stories to life, filming and editing their pitch reels collaboratively.
Later, Club members took part in a Careers Challenge to explore pathways into the film and TV industry through games and activities, followed by a behind-the-scenes tour of Elstree Studios.
The day concluded with a screening of their final pitch films!
