Fashion&Business Saturday Club members from the Fashion Retail Academy and Art&Design members from Camberwell, Chelsea and Wimbledon Colleges of Art, UAL, took part in an innovative Masterclass with textile designer Sadie Williams at the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A). The session encouraged them to transform their passions into bold, creative textile designs.
Sadie and the V&A team started the day by introducing themselves, with Sadie sharing striking images of her work. Club members then explored the museum’s incredible collections, drawing inspiration from artists, designers and creators worldwide. They selected two exhibitions to spark ideas before diving into the main activity.
For the main activity, members designed round patches and badges reflecting their passions. Experimenting with fabrics, textures and colours, they explored creative ways to express themselves. As it was International Women’s Day, some drew inspiration from the occasion, incorporating themes of empowerment and celebration into their designs.
