Rochdale Hopwood Hall College Games Design
The Film&Screen Saturday Club at Hopwood Hall College in Rochdale gives members the opportunity to attend free Saturday morning sessions in their local area. Our aim is to nurture the young peoples talent, build their confidence and give them the opportunity to learn all about the Esports & Games industry and the use of digital technology.
Club members will explore the exciting world of Esports, games art and visual effects for design and creation. Each Saturday, they will be guided by professional’s from the industry to develop practical, technical and core skills for the industry including shoutcasting, 3D modelling, texturing, 3D printing, streaming and software use of Blender, Substance Painter, OBS.
Creativity in Rochdale has no boundaries, there are limitless artistic possibilities, where individuals are encouraged to express themselves. Games and Esports is the largest and fastest growing economic sector in the world. This Club will open your eyes to a whole new career pathway in Games and Esports and introduce you to the fundamentals of the industry.
Explore 3D modelling software and workflows in prop and asset modelling, establish your own stream and develop your shoutcasting skills preparing you to pursue a future career. Club members will also take part in free national events including the Summer Show, where Saturday Clubs nationwide exhibit their work in a public exhibition, and Masterclasses with leading industry professionals.
The Film&Screen (Games Design) Saturday Club runs with the support of the BFI awarding National Lottery funding.
