In two Masterclasses, Angelo Mitakos, Fashion Editor at GQ, talked to the Saturday Club members at Istituto Marangoni and London College of Fashion about his experience of the industry. From photoshoots with friends at his Nan’s house, to styling Captain Sir Tom for GQ – he gave the members an insight into his professional journey and what he has learnt along the way.
Introducing the concept of referencing, Angelo explained how this can add deeper meaning to design and styling, and set Club members a brief: to style four backing dancers for Normani’s ‘Motivation’ music video using a reference point such as a film, a book, an individual, or an artwork. He encouraged the members to consider diversity, independent brands and sustainability in their styling concepts.
