Falmouth University Film&Screen and Cornwall College Art&Design Saturday Clubs took part in an exciting animation Masterclass led by award-winning creative studio, Studio Kiln. Known for designing lifeful brands, narratives, and digital experiences, the Studio Kiln team began the session by introducing their practice and approach to storytelling through design.
The aim of the Masterclass was to explore animation through the lens of graphic design and visual communication. Club members were divided into small groups and challenged to animate individual letters, which would later be combined to form a meaningful phrase. The chosen word was inspired by themes discussed by the Clubs and reflected the local identity of Cornwall.
Each animated letter involved a creative handover, with one student starting the transition and another finishing it, encouraging collaboration and continuity.
