Reading College runs an exciting Fashion&Business programme enabling Club members to explore a range of aspects of the fashion industry such as fashion illustration, pattern cutting, ethical fashion, and design. Looking at Fashion through different lenses, from marketing to construction, Club members get to work alongside our industry specialist, as well as participate in workshops and develop their own designs, and produce garments and ideas.

Club members also take part in national events including Masterclasses with leading industry professionals and the Summer Show, where Saturday Clubs nationwide exhibit their work in a public exhibition – all for free!

Fashion is an important part of the UK’s creative industries, supporting a vast range of careers from materials technology and trend forecasting to fashion journalism and retail management. 555,000 people are employed in fashion, textiles and fashion retail in the UK (Fashion United) and the fashion and textile industry contributes £28bn each year to the UK economy (UKFT).
