The Blackburn College Club’s Masterclass was with designer Amos Marchant, who began the workshop with a discussion of his own work, and then introduced the task of the day: to design a solar night light using recycled materials.
Amos demonstrated a variety of techniques and processes, including cutting, soldering and assembling, to help the young people improve their practical skills. They spent some time planning and drawing up their ideas before starting work on their final designs. It was a fun, engaging activity, and members were very proud of the designs that they came up with, which demonstrated a range of different ideas and concepts, both decorative and functional, that could be used in a variety of locations around the home.
