Kingston University London
Kingston University Art&Design Saturday Club focuses on “Thinking Through Making”, nurturing their Club members’ intuition and practical skills and introducing them to contemporary art and design practices through a series of specialist workshops, led by exceptional creative practitioners.
Through exploring new subject matters each week, Club members explore art and design as an essential means to explore and celebrate the complexity of their identity and understanding of the world gaining creative confidence in ways, they thought never possible.
These sessions invite Club members to have fun and experiment with various contemporary modes of art-making that push beyond the conventions of what they’re used to at school. They will gain a valuable range of hands-on skills in areas including drawing, animating, ceramics, printmaking, sculpture making, graphic design, performance, collage and much more.
Alongside new techniques and processes, Kingston University Art&Design Saturday Club focuses on urgent contemporary dialogues in art and design, that engage Club members in important topical conversations about how art and design can be used to promote mental health, climate justice and equality.
The Saturday Club is a space for self-discovery, where members are encouraged to express their own unique perspectives and opinions in a safe and welcoming environment. We hope you’ll join us to make friends, to enjoy time spent getting messy, to question the world around you, and most importantly to have fun!
Club members also take part in national events including Masterclasses with leading industry professionals and the Summer Show, where Saturday Clubs nationwide exhibit their work in a public exhibition – all for free!
Please note, this Club only accepts applications from young people in Year 10.
