University of Lancashire

Join the University of Lancashire’s Art&Design Saturday Club for a year of creativity, exploration and fun. Each week you’ll take part in engaging workshops that introduce you to a variety of art and design processes including portraiture, ceramics and printmaking, using everything from pencils and paint to clay and recycled materials.

Sessions take place in the University’s Hanover Building, where you’ll have access to fantastic studio spaces and expert tutors who will help you develop your ideas and skills.

To celebrate everyone’s hard work, the year ends with a group exhibition in the University’s PR1 Gallery. Every Club member will have a piece of artwork on display, and you’ll get to invite your family, friends and teachers to enjoy the event with you.

Club members also take part in national events including Masterclasses with leading industry professionals and the Summer Show, where Saturday Clubs nationwide exhibit their work in a public exhibition – all for free!

Explore this Club’s previous Masterclasses:
Designing sustainable cities with McGregor Coxall

It is an excellent way to be more creative and experience new projects and work with many new people. It is loads of fun and a great way to spend your Saturday morning.

National Saturday club: where creative ideas are sewn, nurtured and harvested. Amazing, unimaginable, creative work and friendships made. For many a real oasis each Saturday.”

Tutor, UCLan

My child has gained so much from Saturday Club. It has been good for her to meet with like-minded people and tutors who have such an enthusiasm for art. It has developed her confidence and has spurred her on to take GCSE Art.

Parent

This is an amazing opportunity that’s too good to miss. It’s free, it’s on the doorstep for many of our pupils and will give them a chance to try out a host of new activities.

Head of Drama, Corpus Christie Catholic High School

Creative industries are an essential part of the UK economy and through the Saturday Club, we’re taking the excellent work schools already do and building on it to harness the talents of the next generation.
