In a special opportunity for three Art&Design Clubs from Time & Tide Museum, London Metropolitan University and Coventry University the Victoria and Albert Museum led a Masterclass titled ‘How to make an exhibition’.

The Masterclass gave members an exclusive behind-the-scenes insight into the design and production of the exhibition ‘Alice: Curiouser and Curiouser’ (launching in May 2021). Kate Bailey, Senior Curator, and Tom Piper, Exhibition Designer, talked to the Club members about how the exhibition came together and then set a hands-on making challenge for the members. Using a mix of mediums from their materials packs, Club members created their own imaginative, playful and thought-provoking exhibition spaces inspired by the Alice exhibition.

In the second half of the Masterclass, Lenny Cherry, Interpretation Producer spoke about her role in the creating a rich story and user journey in the exhibition. She set a design challenge in which the Club members considered how to create successful interactive visitor experiences.
