Kingston University London

Kingston University Science&Engineering Saturday Club runs for 15 hands-on sessions from January to June, designed to spark curiosity and creativity through scientific discovery. Members will explore exciting topics including microbiology, sports science, healthcare, and civil and aeronautical engineering, building investigative, observational, and practical skills along the way. Each session is led by STEM professionals, academics, and technicians who bring their expertise to life in an interactive and engaging way.

You’ll get to experiment, ask questions, and explore a wide range of scientific and engineering fields in a modern university setting, using state-of-the-art equipment alongside our friendly Science&Engineering student ambassadors. You’ll also gain valuable insights into Higher Education and develop skills useful for future careers in STEM. Innovation is at the heart of the Club. Alongside learning new techniques and processes, you’ll take part in discussions on key global topics, from the ethics of artificial intelligence to sustainability and climate change.

Most importantly, you’ll meet like-minded people, make new friends, and have fun exploring science in exciting, hands-on ways. Members also take part in national events, including Masterclasses with industry professionals and the annual Summer Show, where Saturday Clubs from across the UK exhibit their work.

Who can apply? The Club is open to young people in Year 9 and Year 10. Places aren’t based on ability but on who will benefit most from the opportunity. We may prioritise students from underrepresented groups, and travel support is available where needed. Apply here: https://data.heat.ac.uk/survey/J52
