Art&Design Club members from National Maritime Museum, Northbrook College, Cambridge School of Art, Anglia Ruskin University, Coventry University, and London Metropolitan University all took part in a City Planning Masterclass with Arup. Together, Club members created a cityscape made up of individual tiles, each considering innovative, sustainable, and resilient design, factoring in the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Throughout the Masterclass, Club members experimented with challenging exercises to explore varying creative approaches. Club members closed their eyes to sketch, and used their less-dominant hand to illustrate ideas. At the end of the Masterclass, the Club members’ physical structures were brought together to create a large city plan.
